I have a 01 Grand Cherokee, recently it was discovered that the blend doors were not opereating properly or at all, I had air conditioning but no heat. The repair service for this problem wasn't covered by my extended warranty (the one the Salesman at the Dealership said you need this," IT COVERS EVERYTHING"). Well it didn't. I called Jeep Customer Service to see if there was any possibilty that the service for this problem would be covered being that the part in question (the Blend Doors) was revised do to reliability, CS person said no. I asked for assistance, CS person said no, there is nothing we can do. I asked to speak to a Supervisor, CS person said I don't have one, don't report to anyone there is no one else to speak to about this. I asked if there was another Number or Dept that I could contact that could help me and I was told "No this is it, is there anything else that I can do for you?".
That was the worst experience by far with any Professional Customer Service Department that I ever had in my life I'm under the impression that this Customer Service Dept. is not Customer oriented. Now I'm $1216 and some change out the pocket! So my Question(s) is 1 Did anyone else have issues with their blend doors 2 Was it covered 3 Is this a common problem 4 What can I do p.s. I still luv my Jeep but wish the service behind it was really behind it! |

I have a 2002 GC Overland, it is currently in the shop to have the air blend doors replaced for the second time. I also bought the "bumper to bumper" cover everything warranty. In 2006 I was told no and I also followed up with calls to the customer service and got the same response, NO, NO, NO, NO, can I help you with anything else? $1400 in 2006 and current estimate is another $1400. The dealer ship where I had the work done in 06, Brentwood Dodge is out of business, no recourse there. Current dealer ship, Antioch Dodge, says don't even bother calling the customer service they won't do anything. I really like the Jeep, other than this it has been trouble free, but next time I buy Toyota. Consumer Reports is correct extended warranties are not worth the money.
